Happy New Year -- Saying goodbye to 2012

I can't quite believe it, but with or without my approval, another year has gone by!

This year brought so many blessings to our family of 2 humans and 2 puppies.  I personally have been able to experience the joy of working from home/being a entrepreneur.  I have been seen wonderful confirmations from God throughout the year that this is what I am meant to be doing as well.  Nothing brings me more joy than knowing I am walking the path God wants for me.  

Of course this is not our only blessing.  Hubbin was promoted this year, he is taking on new responsibilities and a role with some exposure to some really great people.  I am so proud of him and the way he is handling the transition!  

We went on a few trips, did some things we've never done before, got to see some wonderful Family, and spent some great time with friends.

And really... 

What more can you ask for?

That time my Brother got married

Oh how wonderful this night was.  We were all together, dressed up, and celebrating.  Never a better time.  Derek and Kelly have known each other for a while, but when they got engaged they really didn't want to wait!  In fact, they had half a mind to just have the notary in their office "marry" them the monday after they were engaged!!  Silly Derek.  Of course our family would have none of this.  He is the Baby of the step children (still 4 years my senior) and there was no way BB was going not be there when her baby got married!  Kelly is so special and wonderful!  They make a wonderful couple and I was so happy to be able to witness their precious union!

So BB did as she knows best, she planned a wonderful, elegant celebration.  We had a wonderful time. I may or may not have put my planner hat on once or twice to wrangle in the troops for pictures.... but everyone came out ok.  And Hubbin of course got some amazing pictures I remain so proud of him!

This is the post where I pretend like I haven't been gone for weeks on end because I am not ready for the other posts about all I did....

So lets pretend together.... I was here yesterday right?

Right.

Moving on...

I turn 27 this month.

I've never been one to do huge blow outs for my birthday.  I usually just get some friends together for dinner, fun, if dancing ensues so be it.  Gifts seem silly... unless your my Hubs, or you want to give me wine... I like wine.  Or Starbucks giftcards... those are fantastical too!

After 21 birthdays seemed to stop being that important.  No need to celebrate that I'm getting older now folks, it'll happen all on it's own :-).  However, growing up there were some things I thought I would have accomplished by now....

1) I was going to be a wildly successful and sophisticated career woman

I'd have my feet on the desk because I buck the system

2) I would have at least one baby by now that I would see all the time, but still be a successful career woman

3) I would have a fantastic Husband who loves me just the way I am

One out of 3's not bad.
And to know that #1 is happening and will allow for #2 -- well really, I'd say that's just amazing.

I've not posted all week...

My bad!

Well it's partially because there is not much to update the world on.

I worked ALL weekend last weekend.

It was wonderful, Glorious!

Everything went just the way it was supposed to....

aside from turning into a zombie for the first half of this week.

Hence no blogging

Fail.

In other news:

While I was "bringing home the bacon", "earning some cheddar", "Making dolla,dolla bills ya'll"... (No?)

Husband was chillin like a villian playing some golf, doing laundry (thanks hubby!), watching football, and indulging in some beers....

Essentially being a man.

I like men.

Husband in particular.

That's all I've got for today folks!

Maybe my brain will un-mush itself by tomorrow....

6 Months

Six months ago today I married my best friend, confidant, biggest cheer leader, accountability partner, and man of my dreams.  Every day hasn't been easy, but it's all been worth it!  It seems like just yesterday!

About two weeks before we said "I do" at our last premarital counseling session we stood in front of each other, held hands, and while looking into each other's eyes, told the other "divorce is not an option."  I was overwhelmed with tears that day, and am about to cry now just thinking about it.  I love the security of knowing that he has chosen me as I've chosen him and we will work together through this life to build a strong and happy home.

Yes, love is a choice, and I wholeheartedly choose to love the Hubs, but if I'm honest, he just makes it so darn easy!
