Frustration

Last night after a VERY long day where I arrived at the office an hour before the sun rose and didn't get home until the sun was setting; I let the dogs out.

All was fine, everyone was very well behaved, we went to the dumpster to deposit their business and headed back to the condo.  On the way back Dillon started perking up and growling.  I didn't hear anything so I was all "just hush" and ignored him.

Then we rounded the corner.

I jumped a bit out of surprise myself.

Our neighbor was out.  With his dog off the leash... but his dog was still better behaved.  I would love to tell you neighbor's name, or his furry friend's name, but I can't.

Dillon proceeded to go into full on alpha-dog mode, while Daisy was trying to play so hard that she was about to rip my arm out of socket. They're tripping over themselves, and one just riles up the other.

I pick Dillon up.... it's just easier

I shorten Daisy's leash wrap Daisy's leash around my hand multiple times so she can't get a running start anymore.

and we walk.

You see sweet neighbor and his dog were in our way, blocking my quickest way home.  I could have turned around, but then I would have had to walk all the way around the back of the complex, through some grass/mud, and back to our front door.  Meanwhile, the weather was perfect for open windows last night so the entire courtyard heard our exchange.

"Daisy, Sit! Dillon, Quiet!" walk three steps, Daisy almost pulls me over trying to play with the dog she could crush with a single paw.

"Daisy! No! Sit! Dillon! Shut Up!"

wait for Daisy to sit, she does for about half a second.  Dillon never shuts up.

We walk some more, we're now right on the pour neighbor who is just watching me have a mental break down. Daisy is pulling so hard I think my fingers might be broken, Dillon is still growling I think... honestly, I'm concentrating so hard on not letting Daisy pull me over that I'm not sure what Dillon is doing.

We struggle, "DAISY, NO! HEEL!"

We get by the neighbor, I give a weak apology, I walk back to the condo.

As I'm entering my building I hear my other neighbor yell down to the original neighbor something smart about my dumb dogs -- because I was so mad even if the windows were closed they probably would have heard me screaming.

And that's how we maintain the award for worst dogs in the complex.  Thank you, I'll take my bow now.

** Saddest part is they're both VERY well trained...it's like they get tunnel vision, forget everything, and go deaf all at the same time.

Do you remember that time when I cried to the insurance lady?

No?

Probably because this is the first you've heard of it, unless your name is Husband, in which case, you got a very not funny version of it last night...

Ready, I know, the suspense is killing you, what in the world could make you cry to the insurance lady?????

WELL:

I made a routine appointment to get my teeth cleaned last week (I made the appointment last week, it was scheduled for this morning).  I told them I got married and had new insurance and the name of the carrier.  The nice man on the other line said I would need to find out which plan I had under that carrier before the appointment because one of them makes you get pre-approved, while the other doesn't... even though the Dentist is "in plan" for both.  He was nice, I took him to heart, I made a note to figure that out.

I called at 5 the next day and the carrier's office hours had just finished and Machine woman and I do not get along... she does NOT speak my language.  So I thought I'd just call back again.

The next day I forgot -- My bad

Then it was the weekend -- Note to self, our insurance company is not very reachable...

So I made a note to call Monday, the day before my 9 AM, cancel 24 hours before or get charged, appointment.

I got busy

I had LOTS of work to do

I didn't call until 11AM, at which time they told me a completely DIFFERENT carrier had our dental coverage... but I only have the one card? "yes, but you need to call them at 1-800-555-HECK and they'll be able to help you"

OK, Thanks, I must hang up before I forget the number, bye

Dial 1-800-555-HECK, they tell me they can't find my plan (after a good ten minutes of machine woman) because I don't have Husbands SSN memorized and I don't have my group ID number, only I do, I'm looking at my multi-plan insurance card that says I pay $12 a paycheck to have dental coverage and you're telling me none of the numbers work?

Crap

I'm sad but I have to go to a meeting, I call the Hubby and ask him to send me the insurance info so I can figure it out,  I feel reassured that surely a woman of my intelligence level (like anything higher than a cave woman) can figure it out given the insurance information, but I forget to ask him for his social...

So I call again

I get the same answer, they can't look up my account with out my Husband's social, I get upset I say surely there is another way, I can't call him at work and bug him again and I need this info because my appointment is tomorrow and I can't pay $400 (a number I completely made up, I have no idea if it's really more or less) to get my teeth cleaned and I just don't know what else to do... at this point I'm sobbing to the poor woman who has no idea that I cry at the drop of a pin and she still says she has no other way of finding our mystery plan.

So I give up.

I go back to work, because I also am at work, frustrated, my boss seems to be in a terrible mood, I know this because he usually isn't mean when he's in a bad mood, but today, he's got a 'tude. I work, and work, and work, and then 6:15 comes around and boss man gives me a project... then I work some more, surely I can get this done quick.

But I need a list of names from him to complete it, and he's now onto a new project and in a meeting, so I wait, 7:00 and I've got the list! OK, surely I can get this done soon and get out of here.  7:15 he adds more names to my list -- that I had just finished, 7:30 he leaves.

GREAT!  Now I can concentrate and really get this done!

He calls and dictates an email to me...

7:45 and I call the Husband, sobbing again, telling him I'm going to be late, and thinking in my head what a horrible wife I am because he's going to have to wait for dinner, and frustrated again because I'm at work at 8PM which means that IF MARTA is running correctly, It should take 30-40 minutes to get home, but if it's delayed at all... which is basically a constant, I'll be home when I get there and it could be LATE, and we're on BFL so I can't just pick something up, and oh what a horrible wife I am for not making him dinner, and I hate my job because I can't plan anything on a week night because you just never know when Boss man will need/want me to stay till 8PM... and the week has only begun.

Reason number 5 why I love my Husband (that's right, it's a low number b/c it's a big one):

Husband tells me to relax, he'll cook dinner "but I don't even know what we're having!" (in the most mature 3 year old voice possible... because I am alone in an office that the cleaning crew is already done with for the night) Husband says it does not really matter, just text him when I'm leaving and he'll cook dinner

And so I finish up my project, text him at 7:55 that I'm leaving and will be home by 8:30

So I get home, I pour a large glass of wine, hug the Hubs, and thank him for making dinner... because it's not 1950, and he is capable of making a very delicious meal, and he doesn't love me only because I cook for him, and I really need to calm down and not get so frustrated.... marriage is teamwork.

So reason number 5 why I love my Husband?  He's cool in my crisis's... the real ones, and the ones that are all in my head.

Thank you Husband

Postscript:  I got my teeth cleaned today, turns out our insurance rocks and covered everything but the fluoride treatment, which I got talked into anyway... oh well.  However, I still have no clue which plan we're on...

Postscript script: And I do not actually hate my job, it's actually a really great job, I was just throwing myself a giant pity party, because that's what I do when I get frustrated... not angry, just frustrated.

Random Musings from the Weekend

Hello Bloggie Friends!

How was your weekend?  What did you do?

I had a very nice weekend...

First, I have to share this tragedy with you:

I'm pretty sure I used to play dress up in 1990 with dresses like this one -- from my Mom's give away pile...

Now that my mean girls portion of the blog is over...

Sara came over for dinner on Friday night and we spent some time just comparing married women stories... at one point or another we were both laughing so hard it hurt and saying "I'm so glad it's not just me" -- oh the things you share with your best friend just to find out they aren't so strange after all. :-)

THEN-- Saturday I helped my best friend move 13 miles and 25 minutes from me... this will be the first time in almost 5 years that she has not been less than a mile from me.  We've been spoiled.  I had more than one moment of holding back tears on Saturday (while yelling at myself inside that I was being ridiculous and we're still going to see each other all the time).

I might have just once contemplated hijacking the stuff in Hubby's truck and refusing to bring it down there... oh so very 5 year old of me

Annabelle agreed with me though

She refused to get out of her litter box for a while once we got her in the house.

Meanwhile,

Hubby was in Chicago being smart, sexy, intelligent, well-spoken, and representing his company that way (well, I might have added the sexy in all by myself)

After leaving Sara's Saturday I went home to prepare for him.  I cleaned the condo and let the dogs out and worked on my Father's Day gift so that I was not distracted when he came home...

Daisy was waiting patiently too.

Not much else to update, we spent Sunday with my totally tubular Dad, I got my Menchies Fix, we went to the pool with SeesTOR, and ate like pigs...

I did not however, get my fix on the Starbucks petite... the coupon had expired and Hubby made me feel a little silly about eating cake at 8:30 in the morning...alas, I'll have to wait until next Sunday/Cheat Day

A Weekend in Big Canoe

Hello Everyone!

We had a very fun and exciting weekend being a part of my best friend's wedding.  She's off in Maui now on her honeymoon and I'm jealous... She sent me this just this morning:

Unkind...

Anywho,  The weekend really started on Thursday night.  My company's two year anniversary party was held at the Millennium Gate Museum  at Atlantic Station here in the ATL.  We had some pretty special guests...

Chuck Leavell of the Rolling Stones is our Co-Founder and he brought along his friend Billy Bob

We had a very good time at the party, but I had to leave a bit early as I needed to pack for the weekend!

Friday Daisy and I went for a walk at 5AM, then I came home and got ready, kissed the hubs goodbye and took the pups to their respective hotels for the weekend.  (Daisy is a bit big for Marmi Camp so she stays at the Pet Hotel).  Then I ran by Starbucks and slid into my parking space just in time to catch my ride and be off to the Rehearsal in Big Canoe!

It was a good rehearsal if I do say so myself, and Nona from the Chapel is a little spit-fire!  I like her.

Don't we all look nice? :-)

The bride is in the back chatting with the videographer.    We had a lovely bridesmaid's luncheon at her parent's friend's house in Dawsonville followed by a race back to Big Canoe before the bus came to get us for the rehearsal dinner.  Hubs met us JUST IN TIME -- seriously, 5 minutes to spare.

We filled the bus!

I will say there is nothing nicer than transportation when you have no idea where you are going AND you know you'd like a glass of wine or two...

I may have dominated at Cornhole...

But no one likes a bragger.

Please notice my shoes had come off by now... 4 inch heals all weekend was not the best idea.

THEN IT WAS WEDDING DAY!

We had such a lovely morning relaxing in the cabin while we got our hair done and did our make up.  The photographer came by and we staged some shots for him and we even played a card game -- I need to get my hands on this game -- Phase 10, t'was fun.

The beautiful bride walked down the aisle and then we partied all night.  Hubs has misplaced our photobooth pictures, but when the bride gets back I'll get copies from her.  I was too busy running around between dancing, fixing bridal hair, busselling the dress, getting everything in the getaway car, and much much more to get any good pictures of the Par-TAY but trust me... it was quite the night.

We woke up the next morning and drove back to Dawsonville for the brunch at her parent's house.  I put in the address but my phone took us to a totally different and random location.  I had a bit of a melt down realizing we were going to miss the Bride & Groom leaving and I didn't get to say goodbye (I might have even dropped a few very unladylike choice words... sorry Hubby)  and yet, we got back on track and raced in just as they were leaving. Hubs is awesome!

Happy Ending.

More Pics:

Neither one of them is looking at where they're going.... That's trust my friends

The back of the dress with the veil hanging on it.

What did you do this weekend?  Where was your favorite wedding?  Have you ever melted down over the littlest thing?

PS, I need a new screen for my Macbook... it's cracked all over... any advice from other Macs out there?
