Wine Child

So while in Sonoma we had the most excellent dinner
a dinner I'm still tasting in my mouth
and drooling a bit.

The pictures do not do it justice.
We also ordered a bottle of wine at dinner
One thing led to another

And dinner was finished.
We loved it so much we decided to name our adopted child after the bottle of wine.

Meet Francis "Frick" London

He's buckled in for the drive back to Hubby's parent's house...

Friday, Birthday, 100

Happy Friday everyone!

We made it through another great week!

I am currently waiting for my new neighbor to finish moving into the condo next door so I can take the dogs out without being in their way --

In the meantime I'm a lean, mean, cleaning machine!
Except right now
Since I'm on my computer

Does it count at all that I was on here looking for a monthly cleaning schedule to help get me organized???

Conveniently, today is "catch up day" on the schedule I picked!

I know, this is all very interesting.

I'm saving the good stuff for next week!

Like the cooking class I took last night.  And my birthday that is tomorrow!

What are y'alls plans for the weekend????  Anything exciting?

We will be drinking Sonoma wine at Maggianos and going to see Cavalia Odysseo I am SOOOOOO excited!

See you all next week!

PS:  This is my 100th post --- I probably should have planned some more fanfare than this...

Oh Well .... It is fitting that my Birthday is tomorrow though... two celebrations, one stone :-)

I promise to stop talking about Sonoma
After today
Nevermind, I still have to tell you about our delicious dinner.... sorry you'll have to suffer through some more.  :-)
But I promise to wait until next week!

The last winery on our tour was Kenwood.
By the time we got there we where all "no need to show us everything -- go straight to the cabs".  We tried 6 Cabernets and loved them so much we joined their wine club.  We've already gotten our first shipment and I am SO excited to have one of them... hopefully for my birthday.

Which is this weekend by the way.

I took my jacket off to try to fool you into thinking it was a different day... Did it work?

BIG barrels!

Kendall Jackson

So if you ever ask my dad what his favorite wine is he'll tell you Kendall Jackson Chardonay.

I don't know why... it's not that expensive or awesome in my book but still we had to go while in Sonoma.

We went, we enjoyed a tasting, and a beautiful view.

And we bought a bottle of Chardonay for my dad... which we still haven't been able to give him... so shhhh don't ruin the surprise!

Don't worry,
I love him,
but he still doesn't read my bloggy :-)

Now without further adieu....

PS -- Those boots are in bootie heaven... :-( sad face.

St. Francis Winery

Our first morning in Sonoma was wonderful.

We had breakfast in bed
Oh breakfast in bed
It's so nice to be lazy
but you're nervous
that you're going to spill coffee on your lap....

but twas nice anyway :-)

Then we went to St. Francis Winery

We arrive
Walk In
Husband says, "Hello, I am Husband"
and the person in the tasting room says, "OH! you must be our tour!  One moment, I'll go get so-and-so"
I was thinking, "Did no one else sign up for a tour?  That's like the best part"
Then they tell us to drive up the mountain, through some gates, and it becomes very clear they don't do tourist tours at this winery...

Husband's got connections.

We met the CEO, toured the facility with the artisan wine maker -- and her puppy, and then went back to the tasting room for some delicious parings in front of the Christmas tree...

it was still December then, I know, I'm late on the posting

Just your normal everyday view....

Oh I want to go back

Sometimes I want to walk up to people and ask them if they know how lucky they are to live where they do... like "do you realize this is not a typical view?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"

But I stop myself
because that would be crazy
and I don't like to give away my crazy right up front
I save it for the Hubs

Anywho, excuse some of these pictures -- all I have is a point and shoot, and we were driving while I stuck my hand out of the window and clicked away :-)

Our room package included sparkling wine on arrival

and an adopted teddy bear

and breakfast in bed -- a girl could get used to this!

More to come :-)

Jelly Belly Factory

So on our way to Sonoma last month we stopped at the Jelly Belly Factory and took a tour.  I have to admit, I've not found a jelly belly that I like very much -- but Hubs and most of the world loves them so I still appreciated the tour.

Plus -- Hubs and I got silly in some hats... who doesn't love that?

In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have stood right in the middle of Mr. Belly's legs

Christmas Jelly Bellies!

Do you think Kate would wear this hat?

Hi Everyone!

I am all over GA this weekend working but I wanted to check in and share some cuteness with you.  These were all taken in Blue Ridge at our family cabin during my Dad's Christmas Celebration this year.  See below :-)

I got out Mom!
