Review for Fado Irish Pub

I know what I want to tell all of you...

But I'm not quite prepared yet... maybe after tonight when I get my Mac back from the Mac doctor... it's face was broken

Sad Mac

So since I can't tell you that, but I REALLY want to, I am lacking in the motivation department to tell you anything else.

SO, I will just tell you about the most delicious breakfast Hubs and I had the other day -- OK, maybe a month ago...

Husband and I went to Fado Irish Pub in Atlanta for breakfast on Sunday morning.  We were taking the morning off from our usual gig teaching small children about God and the Bible and instead going to a pub for breakfast (well when you put it that way Susie Q!!!).

Opps.

But I promise, we are still family friendly folk... unless you count my addiction to coffee as something you don't want your kids knowing about, in which case, hide your children, because it's like crack to me!

I drink until I have the jitters... it's a sickness

But I digress

We went to Fado and had breakfast.   It was incredible, if you've not been you need to go NOW.  It was such a nice time, we arrived before the servers did so the bartender/possibly the owner served us, we had a lovely conversation with him where I only understood every fourth word or so because his accent was so thick and he talked so fast... I just loved it!

I also loved that there was this background noise from about 5 or 6 men across the restaurant cheering for a
team playing some sort of game they play in Europe.  Fado is known to be quite packed on weekend mornings when there are Soccer (or football depending on where you're from) matches on. However, we were in the middle of the summer and soccer had hit a lull.  So there were just these 5 or 6 men in the other corner, watching their game with great intensity as if the whole Pub was filled and they were just one of many screaming....

The coffee was soooo good! The breakfast was as close to heaven as food can get.

Husband had the Eggs Benedict with Potatoes

I had the French Toast with a Raspberry Sauce (you can't see it but there is a cream in the middle of the bread too) MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
If that doesn't make your mouth water I just don't know what will!

Happy Friday Eve!!!

Love,
Susie Q

Happy Tuesday

Hello Bleeps!

How is everyone's week going?  Anything exciting happening?

Not in our world

It's pretty much just filled with painting...

"yay"

We did go to SweetWater Brewing Company on Saturday with some friends to celebrate Husband getting a year older!  That was exciting.

We had a great time.  The idea is you pay $8 for a souvenir mug glass and you get 6 tasting tickets that allow you to "taste" 5.5 ounces of all six beers they have on tap.

We had the best time despite the rain and the heat!  It was just nice to spend some time with our friends!  They only had three beers to "taste" on Saturday, but that's alright, they were my favorite anyway :-).  I did however feel a bit older than the average age of the crowd.  It seems this is something that a LOT of college aged adults are trying out, frat-tastic ones at that.  But I just channeled my college days and felt right at home!  We were supposed to take a tour, but it got so hot in the actual brewery, and they guy never really moved from the one stack of hops he was standing on so we left and went back to the tasting room to hang out a bit more before they kicked everyone out at 4:30PM.  I would definitely go back, but I might wait until they're done remodeling this time so the tour is an actual tour... and maybe air conditioned.

On a sadder prayerful note, please pray for my old high school friend.

Happy Birthday Husband

Hello Bloggie Friends!

Yesterday was Husband's birthday!  Unfortunately, it was also a Board Meeting Monday so I not only spent 4 1/2 hours in the office on Sunday while Husband primed our cabinets, but I also spent most of the day (6:30-6) at the office on Monday so he spent his Birthday painting alone.  :-(

He was going to play golf, but as he was getting ready to clean up and go he checked the weather and saw that it was supposed to rain and storm all afternoon so he decided to stay in and paint some more.

I feel bad that he spent his birthday working, but I must say he did an excellent job and I'm very excited that the cabinets are almost done!  Just one more wall and 20 doors!!! (That sounds like a lot, but just go with it, positivity people!)

So once I got home and gave him his gift:
and he read his cards (one from me, and one from the fur babies), we went to dinner at Seasons 52.  We headed out to dinner and asked my Dad and BeBe if they wanted to join us for dessert since they'd already eaten.  I had the "Caramelized Sea Scallops grilled and served with roasted asparagus and tomato-mushroom pearl pasta"

I was just lucky enough that they had a picture on their website of my dinner.  I need to get better about pictures!

I mentioned that I thought I was on a scallops kick and Husband said, "I know."  I guess I really do get in ruts... oh well, I like scallops, they are yummy, and at 26 calories per scallop and almost no fat I think they're an excellent choice when eating out... there are enough calories in a restaurant meal without choosing the fattyiest protien.

Stepping off my soap box

They did not disappoint, they were SO good and I was sad when they were all in my belly and I couldn't taste them anymore :-(

Husband got the Lamb, it was good too, but his mashed potatoes looked even better!

I love Seasons 52 because every item on their menu is 472 calories or less.  This means you could feasibly go out to dinner for less than 500 calories... we never do though, we always share an appetizer, and get their shot glass sized desserts too... but since each are still under the 472 count I still feel we're eating better than we would ordering an appetizer and dessert somewhere else!

It was a great way to celebrate his Birthday!  We spent some time together, with some family, and then went home to our fur babies, and the bed, where we slept like babies, both exhausted from a lot of work.

I know, we're party animals

I love my husband, and I call him my "Old Man" a lot, but the truth is I want him to live to be 100.  I don't want to live without him, even the tough ones are better than a day without him!

Happy Birthday Husband,

I love you

That's as big as the blog will go so it's big... OK?

Don't worry guys, I'll be less mushy tomorrow :-)

Best Meal E.V.E.R.

Heyyyyyyy

Since I had a rare Saturday off last weekend, Husband and I planned a date night.

Naturally, I spent the day shopping for a dress.  I found this:

and two more, but I can't find pictures of them

Anywho, the really important part is that this was the BEST DINNER EVER.  All Fifth Group restaurants are pretty amazing, but this one was over the top.  I'm still new to the blogging, so I completely forgot to take pictures of our food.  Sorry friends.  However, you must trust me.  Husband must have told everyone the next day how great it was.

EVERYONE.

SO, if you're a native or just visiting our fine city you want to know where you must go right?

La Tavola Trattoria is the place to go.

It was so lovely, with a comfortable atmosphere, a beautiful view from the balcony tables and a light cool mist to keep you cool in the summer heat.

We had impeccable service, including some great suggestions from the server, that we ate devoured.

In short, if you live in Atlanta, you MUST go here on your next date night.  We had a $50 bottle of wine and our bill was still right at $115.  With appetizer, dinner for two, and dessert.  So on top of everything else, it is very reasonable.

That's all for today Folks!

Love,

Susie Q
